In 2010, 2012 and 2013, the Shield-Ayres Foundation has supported Bihl Haus Arts’ GO! Arts Program, which provides art classes taught by professional artist-teachers to seniors at affordable senior housing communities and senior centers in San Antonio, Texas. The program weaves critical thinking and problem solving into the arts curriculum, leading to positive changes in emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual health while increasing independence and reducing risk factors that drive the need for long-term care.
